What Our Clients Say
When we were introduced to The O’Sullivan Group (TOG) by a trusted partner, Novella was already making strides in several markets but faced internal and external challenges in securing essential payer contracts. As we planned for further expansion, we sought TOG’s expertise to manage the crucial aspects of enrollment, credentialing, and contracting. TOG quickly integrated with our team, establishing effective workflows, robust reporting systems, and clear communication channels that not only supported our expansion but also reinforced our existing contracts. Their involvement allowed us to reallocate key internal resources and leadership focus to our core objectives. Now, as TOG begins transitioning responsibilities back to Novella, we are confidently positioned to continue our expansion into additional markets.
The O’Sullivan Group was critical in guiding us through the process of setting up for billing and maintaining CAQH credentialing for our Medical Director and midlevel providers. The team provided a la carte support of completing and submitting credentialing applications. They secured contracts with payers, helped us avoid contract pitfalls and unfavorable terms and worked to find ways to get in closed networks or appeal and reverse declines. They positioned us for growth to our second and subsequent locations, as well as replicating the process in a second state. Most importantly, The O’Sullivan Group’s team handled the project at a time when I was busy with the other aspects of the start-up in addition to ongoing operations of our other services lines and provided regular status reports allowing us to keep our team apprised of progress.
AHC has been in business for nearly 30 years. We are a leader and well respected brand with hospitals and other referring providers. However, we had not paid much attention to the ever evolving payer landscape and found that we were declining more referrals than we could afford and needed to participate in more health plan networks. The O’Sullivan Group quickly identified the gaps and caught us up with contracts that positioned AHC to better serve our hospital clients and serve more patients.
The O’Sullivan Group was instrumental in bringing our innovative specialty hospital model to managed care plans that we’re not familiar with our benefits and value proposition. They understood our urgency in getting contracts in place without sacrificing appropriate reimbursement terms.
We retained The O’Sullivan Group for managed care consulting services for over 10 years and primarily work with Brian O’Sullivan. In our experience we found Brian to be diligent in his follow through in negotiations with contracting representatives from the managed care plans. Brian invested the time in understanding our business and specific needs. He was well connected in this arena which allowed him to identify the point of contact to facilitate the negotiations. He was particularly astute in reviewing the contract language and making recommendations for suitable alternative language. He has a talent for identifying common ground for both parties to facilitate a mutual beneficial agreement. Brian consistently provided regular detailed communication regarding his efforts. We found Brian to be professional and effective in fulfilling our contracting requests.
As a 30 plus year old hospital-based radiology practice, we realized that in order to survive we must grow and innovate. In the last 12 months MDIG has expanded to 5 new states and added an outpatient interventional radiology procedure lab. I was eager to make sure our contracts were at market rates. I did not have time to provide much direction. The O’Sullivan Group came in and interviewed me to learn my vision and translated that into an action plan. They became like a direct report to me and freed me up to focus on lead, manage and grow the practice. The O’Sullivan Group has been instrumental in identifying, soliciting, negotiating and securing the managed care contracts to ensure that we have the revenue streams and appropriate reimbursement rates to support our success and serve our hospital and patient clients.
The O’Sullivan Group has been instrumental in introducing the innovative Sante rehabilitation model to the payer market. They subsequently helped us add home health, hospice and outpatient therapy programs as Sante became a broader post-acute provider. They are a valuable resource, sounding board and trusted partner as we continue to innovate, adapt and grow.
With a new executive team, the Board was looking for a significant financial turnaround. We were losing physicians and struggling to recruit and pay new talent. I had worked with The O’Sullivan Group previously and knew they could deliver results and work under the pressure of a tight timeline and build the confidence of our Board. Within 6 months we were able to renegotiate our largest managed care contract to market rates and realized significant ROI. From there we brought our other contracts in line. Ultimately the increase in revenue stabilized the practice and resulted in significantly higher valuation in a joint venture relationship with an integrated hospital system.
Vasco has grown from a local compounding pharmacy and expanded to home infusion, specialty pharmacy and statewide infusion clinic provider. The O’Sullivan Group has been instrumental in helping us explore the opportunities, identify sites, develop practice relationships and developing programs and value propositions to help us secure favorable relationships with managed care payers.
We have used The O’Sullivan Group intermittently to assist our internal contracting team. Brian was instrumental in using his connections and negotiating skills to bring us contracts that we had been unable to acquire on our own. Brian worked with us to create a plan and then sticks to that plan. He effectively communicates progress and status and is fair with his fees. It allowed me and my staff to focus on growing our Company, managing operations, and RCM processes.
